One of the reasons we like to throw picnics is that each one serves as a mini recipe-research project. Before picnics, I had never made a smorgastårta, khaman dhokla, or horchata de chufa.  In fact, I had no idea what those things were before we tried making them for a crowd.  While some recipes prove to be more successful than others, over the winter we will attempt to round them up here so you can try them out yourself, if you please.  Stay tuned!
